Sources of Unbelief (4B) - What's it about Great Faith and Little Faith then?

It's Day 15 of August. 15 speaks of Rest (Isaiah 30:15). Our Rest as Christ believers is Our Salvation which we entered into by Faith. Friend, I charge you in love: you can be conscious of God's Rest even if you're restless, beaten down by stress, sin, anxieties or troubles. God isn't disappointed at you. Jesus says, 'You can always come boldly to me because I Love You. I do not condemn you' (Hebrews 4:16). There is no fear in Love because perfect Love expels ALL fear (1 John 4:18). 

Friend, The Word of God is sharper than anything that has pierced through you, bringing you Love, Hope and Healing (Hebrews 4:12). Amen.

Not so long ago, I came across an article that gave some more light on this discussion of having all the faith that we need and here's what I learnt: you're either pregnant or not pregnant - you really can't be a little pregnant or greatly pregnant. You just have to be aware that you're pregnant! 😄 and know the steps you need to take per time to release your baby successfully! Amen??? Thank you! 😁.

Also, you're either saved or unsaved; you can't be a little bit saved or a little bit unsaved, right? Yeah! Scripture says, "You are complete in Him" (Colossians 2:10). Gloraay! What you need is to know more about the salvation you've received and walk in it. 

Now, while the statements above paint a very good picture of you having all the Faith you need (you don't have little faith or great faith in terms of quantity), there are several places in the scripture where Jesus talked about little or great faith. Could Jesus be wrong about saying that some people had little faith while some had great faith? Certainly not. He must have meant something by using the adjectives, 'little' and 'great' to qualify Faith. In the last piece, I did justice to this subject to an extent and I'll be shedding more light on it here. #LittleFaith #GreatFaith 

I stumbled on a Scriptural passage that caught my attention: Mark 9:23. Hear what it says: Everything is possible for one who believes. Let me rephrase that statement: 'For the person that BELIEVES in Jesus, EVERYTHING is possible'. That's Jesus speaking. HE DIDN'T SAY everything is possible to the one who has little or great faith in terms of quantity nor did He say that everything gradually becomes possible to the one that increases his faith; Nope. It's to the person that believes (uses Faith); Simple! Hallelujah! Glory!

EVERYTHING IS! (that speaks of the present, as in NOW) POSSIBLE! - what a huge priviledge. Wow! No wonder Hebrews 11 begins this way: NOW, Faith IS! Gloraay! 🎉🎉🎉

When Jesus spoke about people having little faith or great faith, these were the ideas that were conveyed depending on the situation:

Number One:

He was referring to the amount of faith he saw them use. It's not that their faith was little or much (great) in terms of quantity or quality. Faith is quality and already enough (It's of God) and it always works! Amen! 

Two:

The term, 'little faith' meant 'no faith' or doubt. See Matthew 8:26 and compare it with Mark 4:40 (or Luke 8:25).

Matthew 8:26 - But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?”

Mark 4:40 - But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Three:

Little faith also meant a 'short-term or short-timed use of faith' i.e., faith which was exercised within a short time. Matthew 8:23-26 gives a good description of this idea. Here, the disciples believed and obeyed the commandment of Jesus to go over to the other side of the lake but they ceased to believe when a great tempest arose - they strayed into doubt. Their faith was little (exercised within a short time) in that sense. 

Four:

Possessing little faith alluded to having little understanding of God's Word which is Truth. See Matthew 16:5-12 and compare with Mark 8:13-21.

Friend, Faith is Great, Simple and Tremendous. Wow! GST! (who can relate? 😄). What do you do to GST? You study it! 😁. So, what do you do to Faith? you've got to learn about it. Glory!

Faith does not need to grow; we are to grow in Faith through the knowledge of Jesus Christ and use the faith we already have - you have the same quantity and quality of faith that Jesus had and used to do all that He did in the days of his flesh. It's this same Faith that Paul used to preach the gospel and perform miracles. This same Faith is what Peter used to walk on water. 

God has given each one of us The measure of Faith. You have this Faith! Use it Today!
