Hello friend,
Still on the subject of ignorance as a source of unbelief, I'll be sharing some more thoughts with you and I hope to see you blessed.
God wants us to grow in awareness of who He is, who we are in Him, all that we have, and all we can do through him so that we can operate in the fullness of our salvation blessing. Friend! Salvation is a blessing! - such a huge and inexhaustible blessing. Because you're saved, you're forgiven of all sin - past, present and future (Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever); you're already healed (1 Peter 2:24); you're redeemed; you're crowned with God's love, kindness and mercy (they are ever flowing to you) and you get to experience satisfaction - spirit, soul, and body. Psalm 103:1-5 will prove these things to you.
Friend, where there is forgiveness, healing flows. Therefore, please, forgive yourself (receive God's forgiveness). I know it's tough to be where you are or might have been in the past but God has actually taken care of what you can never handle - past, present, and future. He did this in Christ so that you can trust Him, receive His forgiveness and move on.
You see, you aren't supposed to be saved and stuck. Just as I've revealed to you in the second paragraph of this piece, Salvation is beyond having your sins forgiven or swept under the rug of God's forgetfulness; it provides you with all of God's blessings. Someone might say, "Wow (in a low tone), God forgets?" Yeah! He remembers your sins no more! (In a low tone too). Glory! (Hebrews 8:12).
For being saved, there's a lot attached to you! There's just so much about your being a new creature that could unsettle you almost every time you come to realize them at different stages of your walk with God. There's a lot attached to your right standing with God that you can't afford to be ignorant of and live below. Can you just take a minute or more to thank God for the spiritual blessing of having a right standing with God? It's the greatest! (Luke 10:20). That blessing is so special that satan wants you to lose consciousness of it. It's your Heritage!
Just as I've established in the former reads, no believer actually has a faith problem. What the believer experiences is a knowledge problem. It's ignorance or wrong teaching that causes a believer in Christ to think that he has no faith, or has a little amount of Faith which may amount to nothing. It's wrong thinking to think that you need more quantity and quality of faith to do more things for God. I tell you this in love: It's wrong thinking, and God is changing it right now. Amen.
There are 3 types of works spread across the scriptures: the works of the flesh (the sinful nature/the old man and our natural sin tendencies), the works of the law, and the works of faith (these ones are good works!). The sources of these works aren't more in quantity or quality; they are whole, standing by themselves. Therefore, if you don't need more flesh to do the works of the flesh and you do not require more laws to do the works of the law, then, you don't need more faith to do the works of Faith. It's that simple. Indeed, the degrees to which we all use faith vary but it's just one Faith!
Let me buttress the point I made in the foregoing paragraph:
You really don't need to wait to see 10 dogs bark to know that a dog barks. It's just usual for every dog to bark - they are accustomed to it. If it crows, I should run (maybe). Just as one dog is enough to prove all that dogs can do, one faith is enough to prove all the works of Faith. It's usual for Faith to work whether you feel it or not.
If you're waiting to see more faith in your life before you experience and demonstrate the power of God, it's really not a faith problem; it's a knowledge problem. What people want oftentimes is to feel faith and that's not where God wants us to live because feelings are fleeting. He wants us to get past feeling faith to knowing Faith.
A dog - just one - will surely bark and do many more things dogs do! Therefore, the flesh will sin, condemn and kill; the law will demand, condemn and kill while Faith will cause you to live in freedom, be who and do what pleases God. These 3 entities are natures that radiate their unique actions.
The flesh has its many evil works (Galatians 5:19-21)
The Law (i.e., the 600+ commandments given to the Israelites a.k.a The Law of Moses) has many works and
Faith results in many good works. Hallelujah! (James 2:24, John 14:12).
Jesus said if you believe (i.e., just use this one faith you have), you'll do good works and greater works than he did on earth (John 14:12). Notice that He didn't say "If you increase your faith" or "If you have more faith"; It's if you believe.
The one Faith you have can produce many great works. You just need to know that you have it, know what to use it for, and know when to use it (it's all the time, friend because the Just lives by Faith; there's no dormant season in the realm of faith), know how to use it, and know where to use (oh, you can use it everywhere). Scripture says, "That the communication (release) of thy faith may become effectual (or effective) by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus" (Philemon 1:6). You can only acknowledge what you know. Friend, every good thing in Christ is in you.
God doesn't want us to just use faith sometimes e.g., only when we're in trouble; He wants us to live by it! Because that's our design (Galatians 3:11). He doesn't want us to see faith work sometimes or see it work by impulse; He wants us to use it intentionally and see it work all the time. Remember, the Faith we are talking of here isn't isolated from the Word; it comes from The Word.
Galatians 5:22-23 tells us of the fruit of the spirit. A part of the fruit mentioned is Faith. The moment you became born again, faith began to dwell in your innermost part - You have faith in your spirit! It is the fruit of the spirit! You don't need more! The same applies to the other parts of this fruit. It's a lie to think that you cannot just believe, love, rejoice, be peaceful, patient, good, kind, gentle, and self-controlled because the fruit is in you! God will be unfair to say "Love your enemies" if He didn't put Himself (which is Love) in you.
When we say that something is a fruit, it's certainly not growing anymore; it is mature! All that's left is for it to be consumed or used for several purposes.
Believers sincerely ask God for more faith because they don't know that they have all the faith they need to move mountains - see the dead raised, heal the sick, prosper - soul and body, prosper financially, cleanse the lepers, and do other great works. It's like 'I need a big faith for big mountains'; nah. Your faith which is the Faith of God is already bigger than all mountains that exist in space and time. Hence the bigger mountain is your ignorance of God's Word/Promises.
The usual reference used to justify asking for more faith is found in Luke 17:5 where Jesus' disciples declared "Increase our Faith". Why did they say this? What was Jesus' response? We will see the answers to these questions in the next piece.
Let me inform you: your Faith is alive and never is there a time when your Faith cannot work. The Faith of God in you is destined to succeed anywhere, anytime, and in any situation because it is Word birthed. The Word is Living and Active.
I hope to bless you and see you blessed through the next piece.
By Faith, we will do wonders.
God has blessed you! (Don't look elsewhere, it's you. You're the one God has blessed and highly favoured).
Peace✌
